  • Whoa... Letter to the Editor part II

So at Easter lunch with the extended fam today, my Aunt mentions to me, "Oh Julie, I saw your letter to the editor in Time!!"  WHAT??!!  Not only did Time not contact me to let me know my letter was published, but Time emailed me a "sorry, your letter has not been chosen, please write again" form email!   Hmmmmm...  So if you happen to subscribe to Time magazine and still have the April 9th issue (cover: Global Warming) you can look at their "Inbox" and smile with the knowledge that you saw it here first :).  Otherwise, you can re-read it HERE  If you so please :).

PS--  I still don't understand why, but the April 9th issue is not the current issue.  Even though tomorrow is April 9th.

    In His Grip,

    Julie Outzen

These aren't the best pictures, but you get the idea.  This is Henry Jay Tortouise when he was a baby and we rescued him from the swimming pool.  (And the last one is of my beautiful co- from camp!)

    And Now...

  • Letter to the Editor of Time Magazine

I was deeply disturbed by the picture of three pre-pubescent girls in miniskirts which ran with the article on the HPV vaccine. Parents, please do not allow your children to leave your home looking like this. Not only does it place a bullseye on them for sexual predators, but it encourages them to seek out the affirmation of boys at a far too young age. Help your young girls focus on building character, not building a wardrobe meant to attract the attention of others. Then maybe you won’t have to worry so much about your 12-year-old contracting a sexually transmitted virus.
